I grew up in the Midwest but when I moved to Colorado at twenty I knew immediately I had found my people and my place. I was captivated by everything about it. The mountains, the hiking trails, the lifestyle that just felt like me in a way nothing else had before.
Colorado is also where I picked up a camera for the first time and where I met my husband. It shaped who I am in ways I did not fully appreciate until I left and spent a few years away. I just moved back and honestly it feels like exhaling after holding your breath for too long.

A close friend asked me to photograph her elopement on top of Aspen Mountain. She got ready in her childhood bedroom at her parents house. She and her partner wore ski onesies. After the ceremony they grabbed mimosas at the restaurant on the summit and skied a few laps together.
It was one of the most joyful days I have ever been part of. I drove home thinking I was not even working today. I was just hanging out documenting the best day my friends had ever had.
That was it. That was the moment I knew exactly what I wanted to do. (This photo of me is from that elopement!)
WHAT IT IS ACTUALLY LIKE TO WORK WITH ME.
I am all about going with the flow on a wedding day. If there is one thing I have learned it is that something is always bound to go a little sideways and the best thing you can do is roll with it, keep a positive attitude, and find something to laugh about along the way. Some of my favorite moments have come from the things that did not go according to plan.
I genuinely love the rush of capturing real moments all day long. The way a small intimate day lets you actually get to know a couple and their people. The way being outside in these mountains never gets old no matter how many times I do it. I feel more connected to my couples on small days like these than I ever could at a large traditional wedding and that connection always shows up in the photos.
