I hear this from almost every couple who reaches out to me. And honestly? It makes complete sense.
Nobody teaches you how to be photographed. It's not a skill you're supposed to already have. Most people's only reference for what a couples session feels like is a vague memory of standing in front of a backdrop in middle school while someone told them to say cheese.
A session with me is nothing like that. I'm not going to pose you like mannequins or shout directions from across a field. We're going to walk around somewhere beautiful, talk about your wedding plans (or not, whatever feels natural), and I'll guide you through everything so gently you'll probably forget I'm even taking photos.
By the end, most couples tell me they actually had fun. That's the goal.
You pick a spot. Maybe it's golden hour at Horsetooth Reservoir with the water catching the last light of the day, or the wide open trails of Lory State Park with the foothills behind you. Maybe you want something wilder, like Poudre Canyon or a quick drive up to Estes Park with Rocky Mountain National Park as your backdrop.
We meet up, I'll probably crack a joke or two to break the ice, and then we just... start walking. I'll suggest little moments (lean into each other here, walk toward me there), but there's no rigid timeline and no pressure to perform.

Style + outfit tips before your session
Figuring out what to wear is genuinely one of the most stressful parts of booking a couples session. Before your shoot, I'll send you personalized style guidance: what works on camera, what to avoid, how to coordinate without being too matchy-matchy, so you can show up feeling confident instead of second-guessing your outfit on the drive over.
One full hour, just the two of you
One hour of unhurried time in a beautiful outdoor setting, with a photographer who genuinely wants you to have a good time. Not just check the box.

Delivered through an online gallery you can download, share, and order prints from. Every single image is hand-edited by me. No outsourcing, no batch editing. Sessions start at $550 and include one hour of coverage, location guidance, personalized style tips, and a complete hand edited gallery within eight weeks. All travel within 60 miles of Fort Collins included.

There's no such thing as 'not photogenic'! There's just feeling uncomfortable in front of a camera. That's completely normal and it's literally my job to fix it. Most couples are surprised by how quickly they relax once we get going.

A few weeks to a month in advance is usually ideal for a specific date, though I do sometimes have shorter-notice availability. If you have a date in mind, reach out and I'll let you know what I've got!

We'll reschedule! Simple as that. Life happens, and Northern Colorado weather has a mind of its own. I'd rather wait for good light than rush through a session in the rain.

Sessions are available within 60 miles of Fort Collins, which covers a lot of beautiful Northern Colorado (including Estes Park and the Rocky Mountain National Park area). If you have something further in mind, just ask and we can figure out if it works.
